Art and design has always been a part of John’s life. As a young boy, growing up on the North Shore of Chicago, John’s mother took him to the Winnetka Community House and the
Art Institute of Chicago for art classes. Many summers were spent taking painting lessons from North Shore artists. He exhibited in his first local art show at the age of eight and won first prize. Attending New Trier High School allowed him to further expand his art training.

At the University of Arizona, John’ s studies included Liberal and Studio arts. During his junior year, John enrolled in SAS, the Semester at Sea program. This exposure to cultures from around the world was life changing.

After graduating with a degree in Interior Design and he began a successful career in interior design, specialty retailing, and marketing. John has designed projects in the United States, England and France. His other accomplishments include the design director for a national
specialty retail/wholesale home style company and a buyer for an international catalog
company. Recently, John has had the opportunity to work as a production designer on feature length film and costume consultant on short films.
